Disney has made a lot of movies and cartoons that work well as video games, especially driving games from the arcade. Over the years, most of Disney’s racing games have been kart racers. However, a few have tried to bring Disney fans’ favorite stories to life by combining racing and adventure gameplay.
Some driving games combine Disney series to make cross-over games, while others are only about one movie or series. We really stepped it up when we looked at some of the best Disney race games that came out.
Disney Speedstorm

If you’ve ever thought about what Kingdom Hearts would be like as a kart racing game, this is what you would expect. Disney has sped off from the pit stop to bring together a lot of its well-known figures for Disney Speedstorm. From old favorites like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck to younger ones like Jack Sparrow and Stitch, everyone loves them.
The free-to-play racing game has a lot of tracks that are based on well-known Disney places. You can go fast in Andy’s room from Toy Story or as Mulan, you can skid through tight turns on the Great Wall of China. There was a lot of care put into making each racer character and track. As you speed through castles and woods that look like scenes from your favorite Disney movies, you can’t help but feel like a kid again.
Mickey’s Speedway USA

Rare was back in charge with Mickey’s Speedway USA for the N64, which came out after Diddy Kong Racing. It has 20 songs that are partly based on real places in the United States. There are both prestigious racetracks, like Indianapolis, and well-known places, like the Grand Canyon.
Like most kart races of the time, you use power-ups to make things go crazy and have to win Grand Prix events to get extra characters and cheats. Also, it’s hard to finish because the AI will fight for every spot, and after each win, you’ll know you were in a race.
Mickey’s Racing Adventure

This is a Disney kart game that was on the Game Boy Color and got great reviews when it came out. It has both racing and action parts that work together to make a story mode where you race as different Disney characters. Even with the limited tools, it’s a great accomplishment that’s hard not to be amazed by.
Mickey’s Racing Adventure has a lot of tracks, figures, and power-ups to use. It’s also pretty hard to get all of the car upgrades. You’ll finish the main game quickly, but there are plenty of reasons to come back because it’s fun to play and looks great.
Toy Story Racer

Even though it doesn’t go to infinity and beyond, Toy Story Racers has 12 characters from the first movie. As you find the lost toy soldiers, you open each one. You have to race through the 18 tracks to find all 200 soldiers.
Toy Story Racer can be played over and over because it has so many game types and 100 tasks to finish. Going to all the cool places from the movie is the best part of the game. My favorites are Sid’s house, Pizza Planet, and of course, Andy’s room.
Cars
![Lightning McQueen driving through Radiator Springs in Cars](https://static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/collage-maker-29-aug-2023-04-34-pm-4738.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&dpr=1.5)
Are there any other games that go better with Disney’s Cars? Lightning McQueen and his group of fast friends start a new adventure where they fight to win the Piston Cup. The Road Hazard gang says they won, and it’s your job to give the town back its right to brag.
There are standard races, boss fights, and minigames spread out over an open world where the story takes place. It’s fun to be able to drive around town as the super cool Lightning McQueen, and the race is great. It’s also great to hear the voices of movie stars like Owen Wilson and Michael Keaton.
Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour
![Dale rides a water track in Walt Disney World Quest Magical Racing Tour.](https://static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/walt-disney-world-quest-magical-racing-tour-1.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&dpr=1.5)
As with Disney’s Speedstorm, Magical Racing Tour takes place in a world where figures from Disney movies and shows meet. A lot of the game is based on rides at Disney parks around the world. You can race on Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion, and many other popular rides that have been turned into sports tracks.
One thing that makes this Disney driving game different is that it has brand-new figures that were made just for Doodle Baseball. It also has music that was taken straight from the rides and songs that can be unlocked by finding the secret coins on certain tracks.
Cars 2
![Lightning McQueen blasts two rivals off the road in Cars 2](https://static1.thegamerimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/collage-maker-29-aug-2023-04-32-pm-8110.jpg?q=50&fit=crop&w=740&dpr=1.5)
Cars 2 is different from the first game in the series because it’s based on the movie. You again control Lightning McQueen and his group of humanoid vehicles. Like in the movie, you finish your spy training by finishing different tasks and earning bronze, silver, or gold medals.
In Cars 2, the main mode of play is driving, but there are also many adventure-style parts where you use cool spy tools to perform tasks. The guns are really fun and make a mess in the great online game.
